The Indian stock market ended with sharp cuts on Thursday amid August series F&O expiry. After starting off on a positive note markets remained subdued in the first half, however as the day progressed selling pressure accentuated. Sensex dropped 224 points to 27835 and Nifty dropped 58 points to 8592. Rupee closed with strength of 7 paise to 67.04. MCX Gold hikes 79 points to 30967 while Silver lost 143 points to 43623. Crude Oil dropped 15 points to 3133. Buying was seen in FMCG and Oil & Gas sector, all other sectors closed negative. Nifty Midcap dropped 63 points to 15098. Asian Market indices closed in the negative zone. Nikkei dropped 41 points to 16555, Hang Seng dropped 5 points to 22814 and Shanghai Composite with loss of 17 points closed at 3068.
