Equity benchmarks hit two week high but late sell-off forced the Sensex and Nifty to slip down. Sensex closed 43 points up at 26394 and Nifty closed with a gain of 15 points at 8142. The selling pressure was seen in technology, FMCG and some banking stocks while auto, oil and telecom stocks gained. BSE Small Cap hiked 66 points at 12173, BSE MidCap gained 65 points at 12366 and Nifty Midcap closed 80 points up at 14703. Indian currency Rupee closed higher by 11 paise at 68.65 against US Dollar.
Asian Market was weak today. All the global indices slipped in the negative zone. Hang Seng dropped 93 points at 22737, Nikkei dropped 49 points at 18307 and Taiwan Index lost 29 points closed at 9192.
