Intraday Tips for Today (16th August)

The BSE Sensex is trading at 31,877 up 106 points, while Nifty is trading at 9938 up 40 points. A total of 33 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 19 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.52% at 15,362, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.02% at 15,769. Some buying activity is seen in Utilities, IT, FMCG and Energy indices, while Bankex is the only index showcasing weakness on BSE. Vedanta, Coal India and Infosys are among the gainers whereas Hindustan Unilever, TCS and Cipla are losing on the NSE.

Morgan Stanley bought 31.80 million shares at Rs 33.05 per share. Russell Investments has also bought 34.43 lakh shares at a price of Rs 33.05 per share.

Anti-dumping duty on PTFE has increased for 5 years. PTFE, which is used in non stick coating on utensils, comes from China. These steps have been taken to provide relief to the domestic industry.

It will sell its subsidiary L & T cutting tools, this decision has been taken to focus on core business. For this, 173 crore has been traded with IMC International Metalworking.

Petronas Ennore can buy part in the LNG terminal. Ennore LNG Terminal will be completed by 2018. Petronas is the oil company of Malaysia.
