The Nifty50 index opened in positive terrain on Monday but remained volatile since the bulls and the bears together struggled hard in the market. The Bank Nifty index has been making lower highs from last 4 trading sessions, though it managed to hold above the strike price 24000 on a closing basis.
The Nifty50 index closed 38 pts up at 10,185 on Monday, whereas Sensex ended 117 points up at 32,507. Bank of Baroda, KSS Ltd, Nakoda, Orbit Corporation and TCPL Packaging Ltd. were among those 22 stocks that hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE on Monday, whereas 94 stocks, including Bharti Airtel, Avanti Feeds, Britannia Industries, HCL Technologies Havells India and Hindalco Industries hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE on Monday.
Stock markets in India have witnessed a superb journey so far in 2017, with Key indices returning in a range of 22 to 24% while the banking sector stocks have grown about 30% until now from January 2017. The Nifty Bank stocks had risen 32 percent to 24,009.75 points and Nifty Pvt Bank index has jumped 35 percent to 13,557.4 points.
