Shares of I.T companies were in limelight since the Nifty IT index hitting a 52-week high today. On NSE, in the later morning hours Nifty IT index, the largest gainer among sectoral indices, rising 2% at 11,143, in comparison with 0.16% fall in the benchmark Nifty 50 index. IT index hit an intra-day high of 11,159, its highest level since August 12, 2016.
Shares of Tata Consultancy Services also hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,768, up 4% on the NSE in intra-day trade. HCL Technologies, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra were up in the range of 1 – 3%. The realty, PSU Banks, and FMCG stocks are the top losers in the later hours on Tuesday.
Out of 1,974 stocks traded on the NSE, there are 532 advances against 1086 declines, and 356 remained unchanged. A total of 105 stocks clocked a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 14 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
