The domestic equity barometer Nifty50 and Sensex witnessed record closing peak on Thursday, led by gains in Infosys, Bharti Airtel and Kotak Mahindra Bank ahead of the announcement Q3FY18 results.
The Nifty50 index closed 19 points up at 10,651.20, while thirty-share Sensex settled 70.42 points, up at 34,503.49 on Thursday.
Infosys advanced 2.3% at Rs.1076.50 in NSE, as the topper. The company releases its third-quarter results on Friday. On the other hand, IndusInd Bank plunged nearly 2% today. The bank reported a 24.73% jump in net profit at Rs.936.25 cr for December quarter, YoY. Wipro, Ambuja Cement & Cipla Limited remained the other major losers.
The Nifty Metal index remained the single index on the NSE which settled in the red. Losses in APL Apollo Tubes, Vedanta, Coal India and Hindalco weighed on the index.
Nifty Realty index jumped 2% and hit a fresh 52-week high of 373.50 on Thursday, followed by gains in Oberoi Realty, Indiabulls Real Estate and Godrej Properties, which gained over 3%.
